Current Opportunities

Mechanical Process Engineer

Requiring a detailed-oriented engineer with experience in the chemical and pulp and paper industries, this candidate will have the opportunity to work on diverse industrial manufacturing projects. He or she must be able to perform engineering and design functions for typical and complex pipeline pumping, compressor stations, liquid storage and processing in accordance with industry codes, such as but not limited to ASME B31.1, B31.3 and Section IIX, including local, state and federal regulations. This role requires a capable, self-motivated individual with a desire to lead a team.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Manage and understand project scope, budget and schedule.
  • Provide sketches, calculations and specifications for compression, pumps, valves, tanks, vessels, separators, piping, etc.
  • Prepare the appropriate technical equipment data sheets for review and approval.
  • Evaluate vendor documentation, drawings and technical bids and provide the necessary recommendations to support the project.
  • Have a solid understanding and working knowledge of standard drawings, such as P&IDs, Process Flow Diagrams, Equipment and Piping.
  • Participate in design reviews, risk assessments and PSM (HAZOPs).
  • Ensure consistency, quality and timeliness of mechanical and process discipline deliverables, including technical oversight of engineering, design and checking components.
  • Lead a team of professional engineers to project and career successes.

Requirements

  • B.S. degree in Mechanical Engineering or Chemical Engineering.
  • Working knowledge of AutoCAD, Caesar II, and Pipe-flow software is a plus.
  • Prior engineering experience in an engineering consulting environment.
  • Prior experience with detailed engineering design.
  • PE license preferred.
  • Strong written, verbal, analytical and interpersonal skills.

Piping Designer

This successful candidate will bring a minimum of ten years of directly-relevant experience in designing piping systems and developing processes and equipment layouts for chemical, petrochemical, and/or pulp and paper plants. This role requires the individual to participate as a core team member involved in preparation of conceptual and proposal drawings, detailed piping design, facility layout and field walk-down. He or she must possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills and work well in a team environment. The successful candidate will be responsible for equipment layouts and piping design activities, including drafting, checking, field walk-downs and start-up.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Execute front-end piping mechanical design work and detailed design activities with minimum guidance.
  • Prepare and/or develop piping and mechanical deliverables including:
    • Equipment layout drawings.
    • Piping field sketches.
    • Final piping design drawings (Orthographic and Isometrics).
    • Equipment drawing review.
    • Producing piping designs and CAD drawings to comply with applicable codes and standards.
  • Manage the work to ensure project scope and timeline requirements are met.
  • Inform the project engineer of all design change requests.
  • Work onsite with the piping mechanical contractor.
  • Participate in start-up and commissioning activities if required.
  • Work independently and direct the work of other engineers and designers.
  • Develop relations, both internally and externally.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of Piping Design experience.
  • AutoCAD 2D proficiency.
  • Knowledge facility piping systems, specifications, methods of discipline design and drawing production.
  • Knowledge of applicable codes and standards (ASME, ASTM, ANSI, API, NEMA, etc.).
  • Knowledge of facility piping systems, specifications, methods of discipline design and drawing production.
  • Site survey and field construction support experience required.

Structural Engineer

The Structural Engineer will coordinate with project discipline engineers to ensure proper design implementation for their respective engineering specialties. He or she will prepare and review engineering studies, design drawings and documents, and material and equipment specifications. The candidate will resolve specialty-related engineering issues by applying accepted principles, codes and standards.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Prepare and control scope, budget and schedule.
  • Prepare man hour and material estimates.
  • Develop staffing requirements.
  • Develop project design criteria and design basis.
  • Provide technical direction and guidance for structural design.
  • Prepare project specifications.
  • Interface with other engineering disciplines.
  • Conduct field verifications and information gathering trips.
  • Review project documents for completeness and accuracy.
  • Review all structural design drawings.

Requirements

  • Must have thorough knowledge of engineering practices and economic principles, calculation methods, design details, codes and standards.
  • Have a working knowledge of AutoCAD and be conversant in structural modeling, preparation of the analysis of structures and the use of RAM, STAAD-PRO and other structural modeling software.
  • Prior engineering experience in an engineering consulting environment.
  • Prior experience with detailed engineering design.
  • PE license preferred.
  • Strong written, verbal, analytical and interpersonal skills.
